The Quill story begins with a very clear glass ceiling that was hit by two young professional designers. Josh and Ryan had both worked in the creative industry for a number of years when they realized that their full potential wasn't being met. Being people of action with entrepreneurial spirits, they decided to join forces and founded Quill Creative in the spring of 2015. The team consisted of just the two for the first 9 months.
A small office on the ground floor corner in the historic First National Bank building in Oshkosh was the first home for the new company. During this time, Josh and Ryan worked diligently on the small start-up with eyes set on growing it into one of the premier creative firms in the Fox Valley. Before long, the team of two grew into six and Quill developed a reputation for providing quality design with a 100% transparent process.
Computers lined the small walls, and the creative process was contained to the 200 square-foot office. The company was working with over 20 clients, all the while working elbow to elbow. As Quill grew, so did the team, which was the catalyst for upgrading the office. Josh and Ryan were able to find a location in Oshkosh a few blocks east, and moved the company to the new location December of 2016.
A new location in an old building. The team of seven took over the top floor of the historic Pabst Square building and renovated the space from top to bottom to make it feel like home. Having been built in 1896 as the northernmost bottling and distribution center for the Pabst Brewery, the office was full of character and historic elements that tie it to the rich history of Oshkosh.
Since it’s opening, Quill has been a trusted creative partner for more than 30 companies of all sizes and industries. Today, the team is on a continual mission to bring new ideas and creative solutions to its local, national, and international partners.
